A friend turned me on to Durban Poison as a potential workday solution. I use my brain, attention span, and communication extensively for long hours every day but have currently been unable to function on most strains for fear of not being on my game. DP is definitely one of the limited number of strains that I can ride with at work! It produces a level-headed mellow stone that instantly elevates my mood from “f**k it!” to “let’s do it!” which is a perk; however, the greatest factor is the way it helps me zone in on a conversation or task and actually stay focused as opposed to being cloud-9 scattered brained, immensely euphoric, or zoned out like other strains. So, it definitely keeps you in the moment and feeling good enough to confidently trudge through the day without having that anxious chronic narrative in the back of your mind that keeps asking, “Dude, am I f**ked up?” So, no worries about having the senseless thought flood! Also, DP is super chill on the body and doesn’t produce any CNS stimulation or anxiety, which is another great perk! Along that line, unlike some mellow/focused highs, DP is a strain you can enjoy sex on (and I mean, reeeaaally enjoy it!). As previously stated, you can get super absorbed in whatever you are doing at the moment without being sidetracked, and it will definitely enhance that activity! Smoke is smooth and flavor is an olfactory delight! Pungent pine-sol mids, subtle honeysuckle that sticks in the nose nicely, and earthy undertones that aren’t too heavy or bitter. In summary, if you need to relax, get shit done, and be in a better mood doing it (whether that be managing a heavy cognitive workload, having sex, or just chillin’ on the couch), DP is a great choice!

Omg I have found the holy Grail of strains for my ocd and anxiety. Durban Poison has completely changed my life. I have chronic ocd, anxiety, depression, and social anxiety. I was terrified to try Durban Poison because of my anxiety because most high energy sativas cause me anxiety to get worse but I need the energy to make me get up to do anything. This makes finding strains that help get my body going without worsening my mental state am absolute nightmare but I didn’t give up. Until now Jack Herer had been my go to strain, which is great, but not enough energy for me. I noticed the terp profile of dp to be very similar to Jack, as well as the smell, and decided to try it. I’m blown away. It gives me an instant change in my mental state almost as soon as I take a hit. I go from down and depressed to happy and uplifted. Then after about a half a gram I’m a totally different person. It not only makes me be able to get up and going, but makes me want to. Almost have to at times. I actually don’t mind talking to people, going out, or just go for a walk, play with my dog, or just hang out with my wife. Durban Poison has changed my life so much for the better and I couldn’t be more grateful. I’m not saying it will work for everyone but it sure does for me. I’m so glad it didn’t let my fear of anxiety and my o.c.d. keep me from finding this wonderful medicine because that’s what it is. It’s helped me more than any pill or psychiatrist has in the 46 years I’ve been on this Earth. Now I’ve found a retailer that I can afford to get a qp at a time from and every month if needed. Most months I don’t smoke that much but I do smoke at least 3 of the 4 oz each month. It’s that good and I’m that messed up that I need that much. But I highly recommend getting this landrace strain. There’s a reason why it was brought here in the 1970’s and is still grown, unchanged, until this day and is insanely popular. It the perfect plant.

Strong but very clean head high. One of the purest sativa strains I’ve had in a long time. It isn’t the tastiest by any stretch but not awful. The high sets in nearly immediately, going straight to the head. I feel no body stone with this one whatsoever. (Which is good if you’ve got things to do) Durban Poison increases my ability to concentrate and boosts my enjoyment while performing tasks. Dry mouth is definitely an issue so keep some water nearby. I didn’t experience the munchies at all with it either. It is a fantastic strain and I wish I would have bought more!
