I’ve experienced both the light effects and being absolutely sent to a different planet with this strain. Highly recommend it.
New smoker here, so don’t have a lot to compare it with apart from the first time I got high, which was at friend’s place with an unknown strain that got us completely blazed. I have since smoked a handful of times by myself and it’s all been with OG Kush. I’ve experienced both the light effects and being absolutely sent to a different planet. In my experience, at a lower dosage, this strain mostly just leaves you feeling very relaxed and immensely euphoric, which is a very cosy, calming and stress-relieving sensation that really makes your problems disappear for a while. At a moderate dosage I found that the visual distortions didn’t increase too much from being slight amplifications of the environment, meaning colours becoming more vibrant and movement seeming more fluid, but the moderate level of being high on this strain consistently gave me the sensation of an electric, sparking buzz moving up and down my back, creating the very pleasant illusion of being massaged. At a very high dosage though, this strain really started to show its true colours. Visual distortions of a very extreme degree, not only amplifying the environment, but seemingly drastically changing it. Immensely increased pareidolia, making any subject in focus become lifelike and animated and also an extreme level of creativity, creating a feeling of tapping into an outer, flowing stream of concepts and ideas and being able to capture them. At a high level of high, OG Kush also made me extremely aroused, making already very pleasurable sensations even more intense.
KEEP IN MIND: Though I do recommend OG Kush and it’s high, for me there were some caveats when smoking it at a very high dosage relative to my tolerance. I smoked a medium-sized joint around 2:00PM during the day, smoking the joint down to a roach in just under an hour, yet the high lasted 4 hours of immersive, psychoactive effects, another 4 hours of strong bodily sensations and then it came back around for a second wave that took me to a moderate level of high again! This second wave lasted until I fell asleep around 1:00AM, meaning the high lasted me in total around 12 hours. But wait, there’s more. When I woke up, I did still feel a very slight sensation of relaxation, but an hour later, when it was time to go to school, an extreme episode of paranoia kicked in. I am in general very paranoid and overthinking, so that might have had something to do with it, but I had to stay very vigilant and assertive over my own mind to not let myself get dragged down into some dark, scared depths. It didn’t help that the train was jam-packed making me feel claustrophobic, or the that I didn’t have classes with my friends that day, it just made feel very stressed and alone. This whole episode lasted about 2-3 hours until I all by myself overcame the paranoia and eventually made it cease. While the actual episode of anxiousness was very unpleasant and scary, overcoming it and walking out into fresh air after my first class having defeated it, made me feel like a champion.
TL;DR
New smoker, but have experienced all levels of high with OG Kush.
Low dosages are numbing, relaxing and serene.
Moderate dosages are the same, but with a greater bodily intensity.
High dosages are very immersive, intense and fun!
The trip itself lasted 12+ hours, with two waves of a high.
At low dosages it always took me 20-30 minutes to sense any effect, but at a high dosage the effects hit me hard already after just 10 minutes!
The main high felt like it went from 100% THC to 80% THC, very entertaining visually and the bodily sensations were fantastic too.

Let’s make it organized in points:
1) In order to taste it as pure as possible, I vaped this strain using a convection vaporizer (TinyMight 2) attached to a little bong with filtration. Despite that, I still sometimes struggle when guessing the taste – I am not a cannabis connoisseur, and I am also pretty new to vaping and weed in general.
2) A different VARIATION: Now I am actually vaping THC-X OG Kush, but the molecule is only slightly different from the normal THC, so I suppose that the effects should be very similar.
3) The TASTE:
– OG Kush was much more pungent than I expected to be honest. To me, the earthy/woody tone is also too prevalent (I miss my favorite sweet and lemony strains, lol). But I like the fact that I can also taste some kinda sweet herbal flavor (maybe similar to pine?) in the background a bit.
– Taste 4.6/10
4) EFFECTS:
– It put me at ease, making me relaxed. More indica-like feeling. After a while, it hit me pretty hard, making me even feel dizzy, more than usual. Eventually the dizziness weakens, and it becomes just a part of the experience. This kind of slight dizziness is always fun, but it must never be too much.
– Makes me damn aroused. But that is with most cannabis strains for me.
– Eventually it makes me get lost in my creative imagination. For some time, I get to work on my creative projects and continue writing my stories (also pretty common for me when vaping weed).
– Effects 7/10
5) OVERALL:
Yeah, it’s an ok strain. The feelings I get are great, almost trippy. It gets me into the flow and makes me forget about time. But the flavor just… I am simply into something else. Earthy tones are fine, but this is just too much. I can understand why this strain has such an influence – it is just a strong-tasting weed that leans heavily into the earthy/woddy style, and it does so a.
Wait, I am gonna take another hit… Bro, I am flying between planets right now! Whoooaaa! Kind of dizzy again, makes me write pretty slow, haha. This dizziness is ok, it’s not excessive like before.
But like I already said: Alghouth the effects are quite cool, the taste really is not for me.

One of the first strains I had ever smoked back in the 11th grade and I got taxed $120 for a 7.0. Either way it to this day is my favorite strain to smell and to smoke. such a pungent gassy KUSH flavored strain. it’s kush in its purest to me. this is what I want when I want kush.
