Chemdawg, officially named “Chemdog,” is a hybrid marijuana strain grown and spread by the breeder Chemdog since 1991. In a greenhouse interview, Chemdog relates how Chemdog came from what was thought to be Northern California bag seed, via a Colorado Grateful Dead concert. Chem 91, Chem 4, and Chem Sis are all variations on Chemdog. The original name Chemdog came from two names for the same bud “Chem” and “Dog bud.” Chemdog evolved into the variation ‘Chemdawg’ over time and distance as other growers and breeders propagated it, with the latter name becoming more dominant. Greenhouse Dispensary customers tell us Chemdawg effects include feeling euphoric, uplifted, and creative.
Medical marijuana patients often choose Chemdog when dealing with symptoms associated with stress, anxiety, and pain. Chemdog is a staple strain in cannabis and may be a source of powerhouse strains like Sour Diesel and OG Kush, Chemdog is known for its distinct, diesel-like aroma. Pungent and sharp, you’ll be able to smell this strain from a mile away. Cannabis newbies be warned: Chemdog tends to be very potent. Consumers can expect to have a cerebral experience, coupled with a strong heavy-bodied feeling.

Alright, so here’s the deal—I don’t blaze up that often these days. My tolerance is pretty low, so I usually stick to hash. And when I do hit some flower, I tend to keep it solo, ‘cause most strains blast me into deep space way too quick. But Chemdawg? Man… this one’s different.
This strain is like that one chill homie who always knows how to set the vibe just right. It gets me good and stoned, but in this effortlessly smooth way—no edge, no paranoia, just pure, easygoing elevation. The head high’s got a nice uplift, keeps things light and vibey, while the body high melts me down just enough to feel cozy but never couch-locked. And the best part? I can actually function around people without zoning out or overthinking every little thing.
If most weed hits like a sledgehammer to the brain, Chemdawg is more like a firm but loving high-five from the universe. Social, smooth, and just the right kind of spacey—10/10 would toke again.

Chemdawg is one of those strains you don’t forget after the first try—it hits you in the head and body at the same time, and it doesn’t hold back. The high starts with this clear, cerebral rush that makes colors feel brighter and thoughts feel sharper. I remember grabbing mine from Pull Up Deliveries, rolling up, and suddenly every beat in my playlist felt like it was made just for me. It’s got that euphoric, creative kick that makes you want to talk, think, and explore.
But don’t get it twisted—Chemdawg isn’t all in your head. As soon as that mental lift sets in, the body heaviness creeps right behind it. It’s that perfect balance of feeling awake and inspired, while also grounded and wrapped up in a calming body buzz. For me, it’s been clutch on rough days when stress and anxiety are running wild. A few pulls and the tension starts fading, the pressure in my chest loosens, and pain—whether it’s from sitting too long or just life—melts into the background.
Chemdawg is strong, no doubt about it, but that’s what makes it so reliable. If you want that same mix of uplifted creativity and heavy relaxation, trust me—Pull Up Deliveries will get it right to your door.

This strain made me extremely dizzy, nauseous and anxious. I smoked 1 bong pack with my fiancé before we went to bed and I woke up to use the bathroom and trying to get up from bed (the bed is on the floor, need new bed frame) I stumbled a few times and felt like I was going to faint. Even after using the bathroom the feeling continued on the way back to bed and even while trying to go back to sleep. I finally woke up this morning and still felt a tad bit dizzy. Me and my fiancé smoked some more around 11am and the dizziness came back in full swing after smoking more. My fiancé doesn’t get the dizziness though, So I guess just be careful because it could make you feel how I am feeling.
